Woman fined after van theft

A WOMAN who stole a van which was involved in a collision with two cars has been fined £250 by Wigan magistrates.

Bethany Best, aged 23, of Rishton Lane, Bolton, admitted taking the Renault Trafic van on December 14, 2019.

The van was then involved in a crash with a Suzuki Swift and a Hyundai.

Banning Best from driving for 12 months, magistrates told her that the police have given no reason why the case has taken more than a year and a half to come before the court.

“There has been no further misconduct by the defendant since this incident. This was clearly a one-off incident which happened in a moment due to exceptional personal circumstances,” Best was told.

She was ordered to pay £117 in costs and charges.
